Wayne Peacock | Life Coach and Senior Olympic Athlete
In preparation for the National Senior (Olympic) Games this August in San Francisco I trained indoors this winter at Brown University and took on an experienced running coach; both firsts. The combination of running warm in the cold New England winters and having tailored workout sessions was a boon for my body and spirit.
Running indoors triggered the idea of competing in the USATF Masters Indoor Championships in March at Landover, MD. I am really glad that I made the decision to compete as it turned out to be a fabulous learning experience. My six weeks of speed training prepared me to do a respectable job and I returned home hungry to learn more about track and field as a supplement to my many years of road racing knowledge.
On day one, I finished 4th in the 3000m in the 70-74 age group. On day two I finished 5th in the Mile Run. Day one’s performance took a little away from day two as 24 hours is not enough time to fully recover. Who would have dreamed that I could compete at the national level; certainly not this guy.
I learned that racing against ten competitors on a track is very different from racing with hundreds in a road race. In each of my two races I made tactical misjudgments that cost me significant seconds but probably did not affect my placing.
In talking with many of the best athletes in the U.S., I found that the value of services I receive from my practitioner Dr. Anthony Brea equal or exceed those received by my competitors. I believe that the combination of the (current) seven Energetix remedies resulting from Dr. Brea’s monthly assessments are fine tuning all of my many systems which put me in a position to attain the training levels I need to compete.
One Energetix lotion, BioCatalin, appears to be particularly helpful for my 70 year old knees, without which there would be no racing. Along with plenty of icing, massage and stretching, the enzyme lotion is maintaining my joints and connective tissue in good stead. I have been so impressed with the impact on my knees that I have begun to apply the lotion on my right shoulder.
