Got Celiac Disease? A Remedy Line for You

According to the Celiac Disease Foundation, “Celiac Disease (CD) is a lifelong, digestive disorder affecting children and adults.  When people with CD eat foods that contain gluten, it creates an immune-mediated toxic reaction that causes damage to the small intestine and does not allow food to be properly absorbed.  Even small amounts of gluten in foods can affect those with CD and cause health problems.”  CD is also called celiac sprue or gluten-sensitive enteropathy and more than 2 million people or 1 in 133 people in the United States have CD.

While cosmetic and skin care formulations containing gluten are generally safe to use by those with CD (apart from lipsticks and products that may be ingested inadvertantly), the food and dietary supplement industry commonly uses gluten, a protein found in wheat, rye and barley.  Recognizing the serious implications of ingesting even small amounts of gluten by those with this increasingly common autoimmune disorder, Energetix has worked hard to keep its entire professional line of nutritionals, botanical and homeopathic remedies entirely gluten-free.

I have read several articles recently that Celiac disease is on the rise and I often saw clients in my practice diagnosed with this disease. I’ve found that Celiac is also often misdiagnosed. Addressing malabsorption issues by supporting the digestive system is a start with some simple solutions may be helpful. Probiotics may assist to help restore ood bacteria to the intestinal tract and digestive enzymes have been traditionally used by herbalist to soothe and balance the digestive tract. The body also needs amino acids or easily digestible proteins as building-blocks, required to heal and repair cells and tissue.
