New Product with an Ancient Past
Posted on | October 26, 2009 | 24 Comments
We are excited to announce the launch of a new product on October 30th. From ancient times until the present day, it has been known for its broad spectrum healing properties to protect and maintain good health. It contains a variety of medicinal properties and is rich in antioxidants and immunosuppressants.
For a few hints, read a little about the history of this fascinating plant:
ANCIENT CHINESE TEXTS
remarked on this plant’s ability to improve the digestive system, moisturize the lungs and relieve spasms and pain.
IT WAS FOUND
in large quantities in King Tut’s tomb, almost perfectly preserved for thousands of years.
ALEXANDER THE GREAT’S
army brought this with them on long journeys to increase stamina and endurance.
THE ROMAN’S
used it to treat coughs, colds, upper respiratory infections and to soothe sore throats.
IT WAS SO VALUABLE
in the middle ages, that a tax was placed on it.
If you think you know what this new product is, just add a comment to this post – we’d love to hear your thoughts!

We’re excited to introduce the newest member of our product family, DGL Gut Complex (Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice Root Powder). Licorice has traditionally been used in connection with nutritional and digestive conditions.
If you have any questions about this product, post them here or give us a call at 800.990.7085.

DGL??
Why are you selling DGL instead of the regular, full spectrum licorice?
Selling DGL makes people think that the assertions made about licorice were correct. The problem with glyzrrhiza is that it was ISOLATED from the whole licorice root!
Regular licorice root will not cause problems.

Thank you for your comment and question. As you mentioned, glycyrrhizic acid is a crucial component to Licorice. There is strong evidence that it has an influence on steroid hormones and their metabolism, among other things. Our Core Licro Blend contains Licorice as the primary ingredient in its “whole extract” form for this type of support.
The DGL Gut Complex was specifically formulated to help direct the action of the Licorice to the digestive system. Practitioners may need to offer patients with compromised digestive systems more targeted support. The deglycyrrhizinated licorice root has been found to have a strong healing action of the gastro intestinal mucosa which in turn can help to repair and strengthen the digestive tract and immune system.
